Radio
About the radio department
The DB Radio department produces national award-winning NPR-style journalism. We put out short-form stories as well as 2 weekly live shows that cover news & culture as well as sports.
About the radio journalism internship
As a DB Radio intern you will learn how to cut and manipulate sound, conduct interviews, and write stories with the possibility of contributing to our broadcast content as an engineer, producer, or host.
Deadlines and selection
An important note on the workshops
The training workshops are led by a professional journalist and will give you basic theoretical and practical training.
Please note: All interns must attend a set of mandatory workshops. No exceptions will be made. If you cannot attend a workshop or multiple workshops, your internship will be discontinued and you will have to reapply. If you need clarification, please see the media adviser, Amy Emmert. Questions about workshop attendance must be directed to Amy.
After the workshops
Once you've completed the workshops, you will start working at the Daily Bruin as an intern. In time you could become a paid staffer.
